(seems my bad luck left about 2:30 am). The late migration might be due to the low number of hatching year owls. These young owls tend to migrate earlier than the adults. Although sites to the North are netting good numbers, they are primarily adults and may not reach this area until late in the season. Banders in Pennsylvania still have not reported much movement in that state. I have also received word that there is a barred owl irruption occurring in the Great Lakes region. It will be interesting to see if we experience increased densities this far south this winter. J.
