Hi All:
Given the recent wonderful sparrow reports from the sparrow queen ( need
I say more ) I decided to bird the brushy overgrown area in the " back
40 " of the yard this AM. I did find WHITE-THROATED and CHIPPING SP.,
but nothing more exotic than that. HOWEVER, I did find and observe 5
HERMIT THRUSH at very close range. Seemingly oblivious to my presence,
they went about their business of feeding on pokeberries, scratching in
the leaf litter and giving a wonderful show in general. New yard bird
for me!! KINGLETS and YELLOW-RUMPS everywhere as well. A good start to
my day.
