Marshall and I have been eyeing the grassy spray fields by the North Branch WWTP. We plan to meet anyone at 8 AM tomorrow (Saturday) who wants to join in the exploration. The field is wet, so boots are highly recommended. We expect to see Savannah Sparrows. We hope to find Nelson's Sharp-tailed and maybe Le Conte's. With luck the wetter areas may produce American Bittern, Sora, and even a Yellow Rail. Directions: From I-68, go south on Rt. 57. Go through all of the developed area, past the exit for Mexico Road Airfield, but take the right hand exit onto PPG Road. Cross the RR then take the first available left like you are heading to the C&O Canal. Stay on the paved road until it ends about .5 miles past the North Branch WWTP. If you are a bit late, look for us in the field to the SW. Good Birding!
