It was a very good day for birding, and the highlight was the brown-headed nuthatch. At the pony observatory, we meetup with a birder who we had meet earlier in the day. I did not catch his name, but thanks alot, who ever you were. He pointed out that there was a brown-headed Nuthatch around in the woods. After that, we keep our ears and eyes open for the nuthatch. In the first small clearing after the observatory, we stopped for a Ospery to fly over. Then we looked up at a small bird sitting on the side of i pine cone up in a tree. Sure enough, that was the Nuthatch.
