My estimate was 873 sparrows in 5 and a half hours of birding. 1 GRASSHOPPER 3 LINCOLN'S 402 SONGS 35 WHITE-CROWNS 117 SWAMPS 194 SAVANNAHS 10 CHIPPING 7 FIELD 4 WHITE-THROATS It was quite interesting that numbers of White-throats are really on the increase but we could hardly find any on Sunday? (Habitat was suitable too). This morning there were average numbers of sparrows at Font Hill. The beavers have really set to work there and are damming the stream. The most notable sighting or LACK thereof was Lincoln's. They seem to be dwindling rapidly. Am happily waiting on the arrival of trees and foxes though! Bonnie Ott P.s. A weekday walk this Wednesday at 8:30 at David Force Park. Should be some sparrows there and lingering migrants. Great view of the sky for hawks. Everyone welcome. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
