The WHITE-CROWN numbers are up but everything else was significantly down. One MARSH WREN hanging on and HORNED LARK and PIPITS are increasing. It looks like the lingering Lincolns and Grasshoppers are gone. Had a tantalizing peek at a bird today with a clear gray nape and very white malar stripe. Down in the brush with Savannahs it went! A very intensive search of the area followed but no luck in locating it again. Unfortunately I didn't see quite enough to be 100% sure - I know what I'd LIKE to have called it. Better luck next time!
