We were (politely) thrown out. The man who asked us to leave told us he was with a private ATV training organization and that they had, in effect, a long-term lease from the county on the property and it was now accessible only by permit. He claimed it was for insurance reasons. He was also actively changing the habitat by using bulldozers to create paths for the ATVs through the field and had plans to fill in the wet areas and smooth them down. It appears that there is no reason to go to Mullins any longer because the habitat is being eliminated. Besides, there are heavy vehicles coming and going and you will be asked to leave. Rick Dear Editor: You have asked me to cut three lines from a five thousand word article. I have performed the necessary butchery. Here is the bleeding corpse. - Henry James Rick Blom rblom@blazie.com 4318 Cowan Place Belcamp, Maryland 21017 (410)575-6086 Editor: BWD Skimmer (www.birdwatchersdigest.com) ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
