An adult female Black Scoter has been offshore from her second home in Bayside Beach since at least Saturday. I saw it this morning (Monday). She says that visitors are welcome. Bayside Beach is in the vicinity of Fort Smallwood Park. From Fort Smallwood Road, turn right on Bayside Beach Road. When it deadends, turn left and this road will deadend at Lake Drive. Turn left again and proceed to 2146 Lake Drive. Shirley says that you may unhook the chain near the garage on the left and park there. You can observe on her bay-facing lawn. Of course, there are no guarantees that the bird will still be there. Shirley is now at her home in Towson: 410-377-6583. She also had a fly-by Brant.
