I tried very hard = to convince myself it could be a black-headed. My first thought was the = R-B Grosbeaks should not be around, but the yellow book quickly = corrected me. The two birds had thick streaking on their white breast.=20 What didn't match was the bill, it appeared to be dark or at least not = pale.
