As evidenced by field work this summer, the Coastal Plain Swamp Sparrow maintains only an insecure footing in the small corner of the mid-Atlantic which is its summer home and the subspecies' future in Maryland is of particular concern. A draft of a recently completed report concerning this summer's survey for the Coastal Plain Swamp Sparrow can now be found on the web at http://www.mp1-pwrc.usgs.gov/cpsp/2000. We intend to submit this for publication within the next couple of weeks. If you have comments, please send them to monint3@usgs.gov. Also, feel free to forward this to anyone who may be interested. Thanks again to those of you who contributed to the survey. We intend to keep a close eye on this subspecies so stay tuned!
