I got to the site (Alexandria waterfront by the power plant) at about 4:50 pm, and in spite of the blustery conditions, I was able to find the bird relatively easy. It was sitting on that pipe-thing directly across the river, and it's white belly and brown neck really stood out. A few minutes later it jumped into the river with the Double-cresteds, and presumably went downriver to roost, as the birds had done last time I was there (last Thursday evening).
