Not a goose to be had at 8:00 and I waited and waited.....I went down to the dam end to check on birds there. 2 lady GOLDENEYES were lovely for the 10 minutes they spent on the water. 3 girl BUFFLEHEADS and 3 PIED-BILLED GREBES. I headed back to the wildlife end and at 9 a.m. geese started to trickle in. I contented myself with watching the sparrow action. A lovely SWAMP in the thickets along with SONG and WHITE-THROAT. A skulking CATBIRD in the same multi-flora keeping good company with his peers. Just as I needed to leave to get to work the big numbers of geese started to flow in. I wistfully gazed at them from the parking lot and as they streamed in overhead as I drove away. Better luck tomorrow!
