Co. birds today Hi all -- Barry went out scouting for some birds that his (very keen British birder) brother is looking for when he visits us later this month. I stayed home with a cold. All in all, it was fairly slow but he did see: Red-headed Woodpecker (Black Hills RP), Red-breasted Nuthatch (Black Hills RP), a few waterfowl on the lake, incl. a number of Bufflehead, Ruddy Ducks, Wigeon and Gadwall, two Phoebes at Hughes Hollow, many many Cedar Waxwings at Sycamore Landing, as well as Y-B Sapsucker. NO Rusty Blackbirds, one of our targets, but most of the wet woodlands were dry as a bone. I'll be posting a "wish list" shortly for John (Barry's brother) -- help on some of these will definitely be needed!
