Birds seen or heard 4 Double-crested Cormorant 1 Great Blue Heron 102 Canada Goose and 1 smaller subspecies 33 Mallard 2 Gadwall 1 American Wigeon - drake 31 Bufflehead 1 Ruddy Duck 2 Surf Scoter 1 White-winged Scoter 57 Ring-billed Gull 8 Herring Gull 4 Great Black-backed Gull 30 Rock Dove 1 Mourning Dove 1 Belted Kingfisher 4 American Crow 1 Fish Crow ? 1 crow sp. 1 Northern Mockingbird 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglet - may be more 1 Carolina Wren 32 European Starling 9 Cedar Waxwing - may be more 4 Northern Cardinal 1 Swamp Sparrow 2 Song Sparrow 10 Fox Sparrow!! possible more 18 White-throated Sparrow 5 "Slate-colored" Junco 2 Rusty Blackbird - with other blackbirds 11 Red-winged Blackbird - not sure, in distance 20 House Finch - may be more 9 American Goldfinch - may be more 7 House Sparrow 32 species unless additional species by others?? Also single Lesser Scaup seen in distance near the fishing pier at end of Hull St. few blocks from Ft. McHenry. Scott reported seeing several early before the trip.
