Toni and I first saw it as a fly-by; it came in with a flock of Canadas, but didn't splash down at first. Instead, it flew off alone over the horizon to the south. We didn't see it come in to splash down, but it did. Along with a fairly large group of birders we got good looks. It was still on the water when we left about 10:30 . After the long stays the past few days, I was surprised to see in Norm's note that it was apparently gone by 11:30 .
