Highlights: A flock of 218 Cedar Waxwings resting in some walnut trees beside my house. One nicely marked adult male Purple Finch. One Tundra Swan - has been loitering on Leeds Creek for four days. One Brown Thrasher - heard or seen about six times in the past four weeks. Bald Eagle (3) Pileated Woodpecker (2) Additional Sightings: Turkey Vulture (6) Mute Swan (2) Canada Goose (3000+) Mallard (4) Red-tailed Hawk Belted Kingfisher Red-bellied Woodpecker Downy Woodpecker Northern Flicker Carolina Wren Ruby-crowned Kinglet Eastern Bluebird (20) American Robin (30+0 Northern Mockingbird Starling (20+) Yellow-rumped Warbler (6) Northern Cardinal (2) Towhee Chipping Sparrow Field Sparrow Song Sparrow White-throated Sparrow Junco Red-winged Blackbird House Finch House Sparrow Last Wednesday evening there were three small flocks (total of ~ 100 birds) of Tundra Swan flying over quite low. High-flying flocks have been passing occasionally for the past couple of weeks.
