I was just driving down Crownsville Road (in Crownsville, Anne Arundel County) tonight just after work (around 4:45 p.m.) and saw some movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked over and saw a Barred Owl flying across someone's front yard! I pulled over a little way down the road and walked back to see if I could get a better look at it. It perched in a tree about 50 feet away from me. I've never seen an owl that hasn't been trapped, tricked or otherwise, so I was entranced by this one. I watched it for about 10 minutes before it suddenly dove at something on the lawn below. It sat there a few seconds, wings spread out around it, and then flew off to someone else's back yard and had (I'm assuming) its dinner (couldn't tell what it was - the light was pretty bad by this time). Lovely, just lovely!! Lynette Fullerton Bowie, Maryland __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Shopping - Thousands of Stores.
