It was on the north side of the lake in a = cove with a footbridge that goes across the back end of the cove. The = bird was in shadow the entire time that I watched it from the south side = of the lake. The bill color appeared to be dull pink, though it looked = more toward orange at certain angles. Other birds on the lake (which I did not cover thoroughly) were: 2 = Pied-billed Grebes, 1 Great Blue Heron, 25 Mallards, 8 Ring-necked = Ducks, 1 Bufflehead, 2 Hooded Mergansers, 6 Ruddy Ducks, and 5 = Ring-billed Gulls.
