Comments: cc: Miliff@aol.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Today (December 1, 2000) i decided to see what was happening on Jug Bay behind my house (about 3 pm), so i headed down to my observation point and sat down. Quite surprising was a Purple Finch "ick"ing away and throwing in an occasional Solitary Vireo-like song note or two. Then a large flock of C. Geese came in for a landing. Naturally, i decided to scan them for a Snow, and was greeted immediately by a white bird with black in the wings, but it was larger than the geese! Didn't take long to figure out it was Jim's WHITE PELICAN from 2 days ago. The bird landed along with the geese, and sat long enuff for me to go get my wife and show it to her (quite a sight at 60X!). It was still there when i left at about 3:30p, but gone when i returned at 4:50p. So, don't give up hope Marshall, it may stick around. Oh yeah -- also saw 2 Chipping Sparrows in my yard today. danny bystrak bristol MD ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
