Inlet, which we saw nicely. There were lots of waterfowl about of the puddle and daiving ilk, but very few sea ducks yet. We saw a handful of Long-tailed Ducks, one Surf Scoter, and missed the Eiders at Henlopen, but totalled over 20 waterfowl species including the Tufted Duck in (sh-h-h) Delaware. Only one Brant, very strange. Another highlight was a visit to the Rufous Hummingbird near Ocean Pines, where we also saw Palm and Pine Warbler, Eastern Phoebe and lots of Chipping Sparrows (all of which John and Doreen enjoyed). We then managed to locate both Saltmarsh and Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrow behind the campground at Indian River. Great Cormorant and lots of Bonies there as well, but not at O.C. Henlopen was a bit dull -- missed Snow Buntings and the Eared Grebe but it was getting darkish and cold. All in all, a successful day and John got one lifer -- Nelson's S-T. Cheers, Gail Mackiernan p.s. glad the Harlequin was relocated -- I haven't seen it yet myself! ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
