It wasn't that far above the traffic light pole, and it was being harassed by a crow. What a surprise to see an accipiter so low and so close. I wonder if this might be the same rather large adult Cooper's that I spied at least twice in B'da last winter: once on top of a delivery van eating a robin-sized bird, once some 30-40 feet above Bethesda Avenue between tall buildings. As I was typing this, a probable Cooper's rocketed past my office window seemingly chasing pigeons. On Thursday I couldn't help but notice an immature Cooper's pass less than 20 feet from my window twice, one time to grab at a pigeon that had not flushed from a window ledge with the other birds. In awe, Rob ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
