(This is the corner nearest the Jefferson Monument.) It was amidst a large foraging flock containing both species of kinglets, Carolina chickadees and a Northern Cardinal. These fast, noisy birds were distracting. The warbler was foraging low and slow, and I had to wait quite a while to get good looks. Also in the Tidal Basin were two pair of Redheads, as well as Ring-billed, Herring and Greater Black-backed gulls. On the south building of the Dept of Agriculture, a Red-tail perched on a TV antennae (don't they get cable?) was being mobbed by a bunch of crows. Quite a rewarding lunchtime walk.
