The Snowy Owl was found again Friday afternoon (at about 3:30 pm) at the intersection of Oland Road and New Design road. It flew from telephone post to telephone post, dropped down to catch what appeared to be a rat, and dined graciously in the middle of a field. People were able to approach the bird closely. Some stood less than twenty feet from a pole where the magnificent bird was perching. A birder at the site told me he had been looking since 10:30 in the morning, without any luck. The bird seems to be making itself known in mid - late afternoon. After basking in snowy glory for a while, I went to Lilly Pons Gardens. An adult Bald Eagle made a nice addition to the day, as did 21 Wild Turkeys roosting in two groups in trees beyond the ponds.
