Thanks for sharing the great shots of one of my favorite birds.

And thanks for sharing the technique!

I too just got a new digital camera. It had never occured to me to just hold
it to the scope and take a picture. I tried it just now in my yard, and it
works great using my Kowa 821 scope and an Olympus D-460 Z (with 3-1 zoom at
1.3 megapixels, about a $400 camera). I have to use the max zoom on the
camera to avoid including the interior edges of the scope in the shot. That
gives an effective magnification of about 60X but still sharp.

I can't wait to try it on some birds, like say, a Snowy Owl.
