Following the sound led me to watch a small cedar tree and another adjacent deciduous tree which was covered by bittersweet vine. Just as I was watching, a Red-shouldered Hawk (adult) flew over my head and landed in the dec. tree. I then noticed that there was already an immature Red-shouldered Hawk perched there, and thought that this must be what the crows were mobbing. As I watched a little longer, a Great Horned Owl stepped out from the bittersweet vine, ruffled its feathers, raised its "horns" and then flew off, followed by an angry mob of crows. Sure wish I'd had a video camera!! Enjoy your owl!!
