One day, classes and other activities were interrupted by the sight of two adult Bald Eagles apparently "team hunting" a flying Glaucous-winged Gull. The eagles successfully drove the gull to the surface of the water by circling and diving at it. One of the eagles then appeared to drown the gull. After the gull had ceased to struggle, the eagle flew over to a rocky head to eat the gull. I was impressed with the cooperation of the two eagles in the hunt, and by the fact the gull seemed to be drowned. I don't recall the other species, but it was in David M.Bird's column on bird behavior, and it was someone sending in a question, rather than him writing about it directly. Still it seems very odd behavior.
