Also an adult = Bald Eagle on the ground feeding on the remains of some unlucky duck. A = bit further down river at Selby's Landing a female Common Yellowthroat = was observed near the boat launch area. At Schoolhouse Pond a Lesser Black-backed Gull was present as was the = Snow Goose reported by Fred Shaffer. In Calvert Co.- Lots of waterfowl near the nuke plant- Common Goldeneye, Long-tailed = Duck, Bufflehead and a large group of scaup. Common and Red-throated = Loons were also present. =20 On the south side of Cove Point were two Brown Pelicans- (1 adult and 1 = immature). The adult bird was resting fairly close to shore on a small = sand spit, this bird eventually flew off to a set of pound nets well = south of the point. The immature bird flew close to shore before = joining the adult bird out near the pound nets. This was the same = location for Brown Pelicans observed during last year's Patuxent River = CBC.
