It had taken down a red bellied woodpecker and was standing on the ground for about five minutes. At first I thought the falcon was injured, it was hopping around, flapping its wings and seemed to be having trouble with its foot. At first I could not see that it had any prey, after about a minute or two, the woodpecker's head was clearly visible in front of the falcon. I had to do something else for a few minutes, assumed he would still be there, but when I looked again it was gone. A neat yard bird, too bad it was a woodpecker that took the hit.
