Marty, long time no see! Yes, this is absolutely the proper place to discuss your feelings about Mute Swans in Maryland. I think you'd have most of the folks on this list on your side. Unfortunately the Mutes are big, visible, cuddly-looking (their true nature notwithstanding) birds that the non-birding public just seem to love seeing around. Hence any efforts to control or manage the population are going to run into some severe public opinion problems. I guess we'll all have to redouble our efforts to educate our non-birding friends!
