Jim Stasz also saw the bird and confirmed that it is a Whooper Swan, and not a Bewick's race of Tundra Swan. With the recent posts regarding specials on the Sibley Guide, I thought that I should mention that I have seen the guide for 40% off at the SuperCrowns in both Laurel and Bowie. I'm not sure about other stores, but it may be worth a check. At this price, I bought myself a second copy, as the binding is beginning to crack on my first. Have other people been having this problem with the binding, or is it as my wife says, I just have the book open too much?
