They are quite sharp and focus really close -- to about 6' -- and are very lightweight. I'm actually on my second pair after the first were stolen when I stupidly left them under the seat of my rental car in the Negev desert! The point being that I liked them so much, I bought a replacement pair. I think they're the best deal for the money in that price range. After looking all over the area for a camera store that carried them, I actually got them at Hudson Trail in Rockville (which I shouldn't admit, since I work for REI ) but I think Eagle Optics carries them on line.
