Subject: Yard Bird MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="ISO-8859-1" Last night when we got home from work we had a new yard bird on the front lawn. It was a Hermit Thrush. The curious thing was that the bird seemed to be doing a lot of shaking. First it would shake one leg, then the other. Sometimes its tail would shake along with a leg and other times its whole body would shake. Most of the time though it was just one leg that would shake or quiver. It appeared the bird was hunting for food and its actions made me think of a shore bird or water bird stirring water or mud to find a tasting morsel. If this is so, what would the Hermit be looking for on our front lawn in this frigid weather? We have also had an American Robin in the yard twice this week.
