Rod and I also birded along Hooper's Island = Road south of the refuge earlier in the day. Among the 60 species that = Rod & I counted were 3 Golden Eagles in the Marsh at Blackwater. One = was fairly close with good views, while 2 others were quite far out even = for scopes. Bald Eagles were sighted throughout the refuge. I did want to also report that Blackwater had completed their annual = Jan. Eagle count the prior week and had counted 99 Eagles at the refuge. = These consisted of 95 Bald Eagles and 4 Golden Eagles. They had = counted 2 adult Goldens and 2 immatures. They didn't have the breakdown = available at the time we were there re: the Bald Eagles.
