I haven't gotten out much recently, and when I have, I
haven't seen anything already much reported (like the
Merlin at Hains Point, which I watched last week 'playing'
with a half-dozen crows - one of which it came close to
forcing into the water!).
However, out at lunch in front of the Castle today, I
saw an immature Cooper's Hawk being harassed by an American
Kestrel. The Cooper's Hawk finally decided to rest, and
allowing a fairly close approach before she (I think)
decided to fly off elsewhere in search of lunch.
As usual, the Mall public seemed ignorant of the drama
immediately overhead!
