It assists in the conservation of neotropical migrant and resident birds by filling a need for basic equipment and tools in Latin America and the Caribbean. Bird studies often cross national borders, and unfortunately, into areas which lack funding and basic materials. If you know of such programs, researchers, educators, or conservationists in the neotropics who might benefit from donated equipment, please direct them to the ABA's web site at http://americanbirding.org/programs/consbexap.htm. Application forms are available for download in Spanish and English. Better yet, if you are traveling to the Latin America or the Caribbean this year, please take some Birder's Exchange forms with you! Birders' Exchange always accepts quality optics, cameras, backpacks, and neotropical field guides. Please send donations to: Birders' Exchange, ABA, PO Box 6599, Colorado Springs, CO 80934. Reports from past recipients may be viewed at http://americanbirding.org/programs/consbexr.htm For more information about Birders' Exchange go to http://americanbirding.org/programs/consbex.htm or contact Lina DiGregorio at 800-850-2473 ext. 228 or at edcon@aba.org.
