The usual suspects (2 dozen redheads, less than a dozen Canvasback, 30+ ring-necks, a pair of Hooded Mergs) were present. At 09:30 a Canada Goose hybrid flew in. This bird possessed large, irregularly placed white patchs, including the left wing. While one might suspect albinism, the bright orange feet would argue more for a domesticated goose of some kind. Cheek patch is larger than on a stock Canada, and it also has white eye rings, and a white stripe behind the bill. I won't hazard a guess as to the other parent! -Kurt Schwarz Howard County white-crown@home.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "odenata" To: Sent: Saturday, January 27, 2001 9:43 PM Subject: [MDOSPREY] Pintails & Common Mergansers at Centennial Park > Jane and Dennis Coskren reported a pair of Pintails and three Common > Merganers at Centennial Park in Howard County on Saturday, Jan 27.
