A couple of interesting observations: 1. Some local women who feed the waterfowl daily said that the swan was quite skittish when it first appeared, about ten days ago. Now it has no hesitation to panhandle like the rest of the birds from very close range. 2. The bird climbed up onto the ice and revealed bare legs, that is, there were no bands or other markings indicating previous captivity. The origin of this bird obviously remains suspicious, nonetheless...
