The one concerning backyard birds is o.k. It has a good deal of info per bird but it is not a traditional id book. I would suggest the "feeder birds" one page chart by Cornell. Cornell also has a new book that is very good about feeding birds and it includes info on the birds themselves along with "field guide" pages on just feeder birds. It is for the entire country though and will have western birds. I always suggest to new birders that they take a regional checklist "ex. Birds of Howard county" and highlight in their guides the birds expected to be seen.
