He noted the black primary tips, mantle slightly darker than adult Herring or Ringbill, legs coral color (aka brighter pink than Herring), nice rounded head, dark eye, size definitely smaller than Herring. It jumped out at him from a distance of 200 yards, as seen through his telescope. He did later get closer. He is hoping to go to the reservoir this afternoon to obtain photos.
