In the early 1990's, we had about a dozen or two at the Waterfowl Lake and now we have at least 6 (3 pairs). Other Wood Ducks can be found at other ponds especially yard #3 at Wading Bird Exhibit right next to Polar Bear and sometimes at Small Duck Pond next to the Rock Island, home of the largest population of African Penguin in North America and 2nd in the nation. These past three or four years, I do May Count and sometimes other Count at the Baltimore Zoo and help Anne Arundel Bird Club trip there looking for birds twice and we saw few Wood Duck.
