Highlights for us were: a.. Bombay Hook NWR: Got Horned Larks and Snow Buntings along theroad to the Refuge.There were lots of Snow Geese, Pintails, and someTundra Swans. =20 b.. Headed to Broadcreek to check ponds along both sides of the roadand not even a feather. c.. On to Crystal Lake in Rehoboth. Lot of ducks: Canvasbacks,Ruddy, both Scaup, but no Tufted Duck. d.. Traveled South and did Bay pull offs: Sanderlings and Brant e.. Indian River Inlet at the marina parking at Burton's Island: Horned Grebes, Bufflehead, great looks at Red-breasted Mergansers,and aflock of 200+ Brant. At the Inlet a mature and immature GreatCormorant; on the rocks: Sanderlings, Ruddy Turnstones, and PurpleSandpipers; at the mouth both Loons, and Loooooooong-------------- ( nomatter how I try, I have difficulty in saying it and just can't writeit) Old Squaw. =20 f.. Ocean City 4th street: Oystercatchers g.. OC Jetty: the three Sandpipers with great looks at PurpleSandpipers, lots of loons, and 5 Harlequin Ducks h.. At Hoopers dock: Brant at upper end of Skimmer Island i.. West OC Pond: Lots of birds predominately Canvasbacks. Picked upRinged Neck Duck, American Widgeon, and Hooded Mergansers j.. One to Blackwater NWR but first a sumptuous lunch at The SuicideBridge Cafe (Route 16 East to town of Secretary--at the Post Office turnleft to restaurant--there is a small sign pointing the way but easy tomiss.). Blackwater NWR was very quiet but got 8 Eagles. Four weremature Bald Eagles and the other four were silhouettes and could nottell what they were. Hoped to see a Golden. More Canada Geese thanhave seen there for some time. =20 k.. Stopped off at Cambridge Yacht Club and got Goldeneye, Surf Scoterand a gaggle of seventh grade students who had a great time lookingthrough the scope. =20 l.. Back home through a rain storm, tired but pleased with our quicktrip--65 species. =20 Many thanks for your help.
