This is usually a good spot for birds preferring shrub/thicket habitat. Had a good number of Singing song sparrows and white-throats Got a great view of an American Tree Sparrow Robins Juncos A beautiful adult Red-shouldered A Sharp-shinned with a nice full crop and I had a nice face to face run in with a fully red coated red fox sporting his black socks. This place is a good spot in the spring for nesting yellowthroats, Blue Grosbeaks and Indigo buntings if not more. The place is also packed with gray tree frogs in the summer and other herps. Unfortunately I believe this area is going to be cleared and a road put through. I will have to find out the details. It is sad to see Howard County be physically stripped of its natural areas. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
