Craig Tumer & I arrived at about 8:20 am, and it hadn't been seen yet that morning. We waited patiently, along with about 4 other car loads of people, and the bird finally showed up at about 10:10. We first saw it in the large spruce to the left of the feeder. This was very fortunate for us, because when it came to the platform feeder it was obscured by the feeder frame. It fed for about a minute (probably less), and then took off. We were just about to leave, but before we did we checked the spruce again. Again this was fortuitous, because the bird was back in the tree. We immediately alerted the others, who couldn't see the tree and apparently missed seeing the bird the first time, and all were able to get fantastic looks at it through scopes. It was quite cooperative. We watched it until about 11, so it was around for about an hour. We never saw it return to the feeder during that whole second sighting. I believe it took off after that, but it could have just moved to a different part of the tree, out of sight. Again, whatever the origin, it's still a neat bird to see.
