Saturday morning there were 2 adults and a sub-adult flying around Black Hill reservoir, along with plenty of waterfowl. I just got back from a short run up to Brighton Dam to drop off the Triadelphia CBC data to my friend Bart Pitts of WSSC and took a quick look at the reservoir there. Huge numbers of Common Mergansers, lots of gulls, and a single adult Bald Eagle circling about mid-way between the "upper" and "lower" parts of the reservoir. Yesterday my friend Mike and I were speculating about the possibility of having any eagles nesting at Black Hill. My thinking is that there are too many people on the lake (mostly fisherman) for the "comfort level" of eagles, but if they nested in the vicinity of the dam, perhaps they could pull off a nesting. Any thoughts?
