Waterfowl was not abundant. Most numerous were COMMON GOLDEN EYE and BUFFLEHEAD , with small numbers of NORTHERN PINTAIL, BLACK DUCKS and one small group of 5 RED-BREASTED MERGS. TUNDRA SWAN were in good numbers, gabbling loudly. A female NORTHERN HARRIER was observed hunting low over the fields, and an adult BALD EAGLE was seen carrying nesting material. Other raptors seen were RED-TAILED HAWK and COOPER HAWK. On a walk through pine woods near dusk, a pair of GREAT HORNED OWLS were " talking . " Also in the pine woods was a small flock of YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, and good looks at CEDAR WAXWING. At dusk, we observed a mixed flock that included REDWING BLACKBIRDS, stretching from horizon to horizon. The endless stream was mind boggling.
