We also walked the "spring" trail from the road. Rob Gibbs told me that the log bridge over ten-mile creek frequently gets washed away after heavy rains, and such was the case this season. Hope it gets fixed before too long, as that's a great area to bird in the spring but high water may make crossing problematic. As for breeding eagles, I think food is less a problem than the disturbances caused by fisherman in boats getting too close to a nest, if one were built near the water. There seems to be plenty of fish for a pair to feed young. I know that eagles that winter here must make a good living feeding on waterfowl, however...
