Just now (2:00 p.m., 16 Feb) there are two RAZORBILLS feeding in the rips off the south jetty at Ocean City Inlet with about 15 Red-throated Loons. One is mostly in basic plumage and the other coming into alternate. This was exciting for me, as it is an overdue state bird (#346) for me. On Wednesday (14 Feb) I had 6 SNOW BUNTINGS at the Hurlock Waste Water Treatment Plant, Dorechester County. Yesterday (15 Feb) they were still present though their numbers were reduced to five. Both times I saw them at the west intersection of the east-west crossdike and the perimeter dike, where they seemed to like the riprap along the pond edge. Other shore birds included hundreds of gulls at Hurlock W.T.P. 14 Feb (nothing rare) - I'm not sure how often gull flocks occur here. Also 3 Wild Turkeys near Wal-Mart off Rte. 50 15 Feb and 2 Mute Swans off Rte. 309 in Queen Anne's County 14 Feb (my first here). At least one male Redhead among Canvasbacks on West Ocean City Pond today.
