Date: Sat, 17 Feb 2001 22:30:13 -0500 Reply-To: Maryland Birds & Birding Sender: Maryland Birds & Birding From: Peter Webb Subject: Razorbill seen again with Little Gull Ocean City Inlet Saturday afternoon MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Forgive me if this is already posted and hasn't reached my email; however, just in case nobody else got around to it: A first-winter Little Gull was with the Bonaparte's Gulls in the churning water at the mouth of Ocean City Inlet, and one of Marshall's two Razorbills was also present there, spending most of its time under water, making brief surface appearances. From the O.C. North Jetty, it was mostly to the right of the nearby green buoy, while the Little Gull was with Bonies in front of a more distant light green buoy on the horizon, about five binocular fields of view right of the nearby green buoy. While I was there only one Razorbill was being seen, and the Harlequins and other uncommon ducks were not in view, but I didn't check the bay end of the Jetty or talk with anyone who had, being absorbed in playing hide-n-seek with the Razorbill, a state bird for me. No dark under the wing-tips and smaller than the Bonaparte's Gulls, the Little Gull was not a Black-headed Gull this time.
