Along with the usual assortment of gulls, geese, and mallards, I was surprised when a Woodcock flushed immediately to my right off of the boardwalk. I tracked it down in the woods and saw it flush once more before it disappeared into the woods near an adjacent creek. This was a first at the pond for me. Also of interest was a spectacular flock of over 80 Cedar Waxwings in the trees and bushes very close to the boardwalk on the other side of the pond. There was also 1 Gadwall and 5 Coots.
