One bird in particular looked odd. The femalejunco was a soft brown with a slightly darker, grayish hood and had buffcolor under the wings up to the crown. At first we thought it was just avery brown individual but after consulting Sibley, we determined that dueto the buff coming up to the hood that this was an Oregon Junco. We triedto get some pix but the birds were being flighty due to all of theactivity and a large grackle flock moving around the area. Also, mixed in with the grackles was at least one Rusty Blackbird. I triedto relocate either bird this morning but there weren't that many birdscoming to the feeders today since the snow event was over.
